Hello — I'm glad you've found your way here. Whether you've spotted a typo, want to ask something about a post, or you're a fellow vet nurse with a correction I need to hear, I read every message myself. There's no call centre and no ticket system, just me, usually with a dog asleep on my feet and the kettle on.

The quickest and most reliable way to reach the team is by email: [email protected]. I try to reply within a few working days, though it can occasionally take longer during lambing-adjacent chaos or when the Trossachs weather takes the broadband with it.

What kinds of messages are welcome

Genuinely, most things. Here's a rough idea of what lands in this inbox and gets a proper answer:

• Questions about a specific article — if something wasn't clear, or you want more detail on a health or grooming topic I've covered, ask away.
• Corrections — veterinary medicine moves, and I'd rather fix an out-of-date detail fast than leave it sitting there. If you're a vet, nurse, or groomer and you've spotted something off, please tell me plainly.
• Content suggestions — topics you wish someone would cover properly, without the padding. I keep a running list.
• Technical issues — broken links, images that won't load, anything behaving oddly on the site.
• Collaborations and partnerships — brands, groomers, rescue centres and fellow writers are all welcome to get in touch. There's more detail on how that works on the Collaboration page.
• Press and media enquiries — happy to help with interviews or comment, particularly on grooming, senior dog care, or the realities of home boarding.

A word on health questions

I need to be honest with you here, because it matters. I'm a Registered Veterinary Nurse of nineteen years' standing, and I still write every health post with real care about what's worth watching and what means going now. But I left clinical practice some years ago, and I don't diagnose or prescribe over email — not for your dog, and not based on a description in a message. If your dog is unwell, off their food, in pain, or you're worried at all, please ring your own vet rather than waiting on a reply from me. This site, including anything I send you directly, is not a substitute for a proper clinical examination. You'll find the full detail on this in the Disclaimer.

Tips for a quicker, more useful reply

A little detail goes a long way. If you can, include:

• The exact page or article title you're writing about, and a link if you have it.
• What breed, age, or situation your question relates to, if it's dog-specific — a twelve-year-old collie and a boisterous young rescue lead to very different advice.
• Screenshots for technical issues, so I can see exactly what you're seeing.
• A clear subject line — "Correction on flea treatment post" gets sorted faster than "Question".

Happy Dog Tips is written by me, Fiona Ellis — nineteen years as a vet nurse, six years of home boarding and grooming, and thirty-five years of living with dogs, currently a twelve-year-old collie called Skye and a rescue collie cross called Tam.
